Spokesperson of Sindh Government and Advisor for Law, Environment & Coastal Development Barrister, Murtaza Wahab inaugurated 30 KW Solar Energy Unit at Karachi University on Wednesday.
Mutaza Wahab attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. The ceremony was also attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, Dean of Faculties of Karachi University and Chairman of all departments besides other members of the University.
Addressing the ceremony, Murataza Wahab said solar energy is being used all over the world to deal with the energy crisis and by the grace of God Almighty Pakistan’s geographical location is very suitable.
Praising Karachi University for its initiative, the minister said that not only problems were being identified in Karachi University but also solutions to these problems are being sought by the varsity. He also acknowledged that now the number of students studying in Karachi University is also continuously increasing.
He said the management of Karachi University has increased its own resources and now Karachi University is running new welfare projects under public-private partnership. He also said that he was grateful to the University of Karachi Alumni who are still cooperating with the University. He said that we should not only cry for resources but also find solutions to these problems like Karachi University, and everyone should follow the “Clean and Green” project.
He further said in his address that both my mother and father were Alumni of Karachi University. It is my family’s responsibility to pay for education for two needy student’s scholarship. We are part of this country and society; we have to play our role in society to the best of our ability. After his speech, Barrister Murtaza Wahab also handed over scholarship checks to both the students.
Later, while talking to the media at the end of the ceremony, Murtaza Wahab said that in the democratic process, meetings could be held by everyone. The PPP visited MQM headquarters yesterday to seek votes for the Senate chairman as part of a democratic process.
The minister noted that PTI leader’s talk of transparency but its ultimate goal is only Imran Khan’s power. He said the buyers and sellers of votes were included in the PTI, and questioned that in what capacity they are contesting the election of the Chairman of the Senate.
“Inflation could not be brought down by making electricity, gas, petrol and diesel more expensive. If the price of fertilizer goes up, the prices of vegetables and other food items will inevitably go up. Commissioner Islamabad belongs to the federation. The price of chicken meat has gone up to Rs. 500 per kg there. PTI does not believe in transparency. Yesterday, Shibli Faraz had stated that he would use every tactic for the seat of Senate Chairman. The Election Commission should take notice of this statement of Shibli Faraz” he concluded.
