Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while chairing a high level meeting on Thursday said that 20,000
schools will benefit under the Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala
Programme.
The chief minister was briefed about Pakistan’s Educational Statistics published by Academy of Education Planning and Management.
The chief minister said to meet the deficit of teachers in
schools, 2 lakh highly skilled teachers have been hired on merit. “83,000 children have been rescued from the
misery of child labor and enrolled in
schools,” he added. He said additional rooms are built in
schools and solar panels are being provided to 20,000
schools.
Shahbaz said fur
ther arrangements are being made to increase student enrollment in
schools and tablets are being provided in
schools. The chief minister said the government has ensured provision of missing facilities in the
schools of Punjab.
He said that the due to the positive measures taken by government the rate of drop-out student has been reduced significantly in
schools. Shahbaz said that
schools without the electricity will be provided soon through the Solar Panels
Programme.
