LAHORE: The Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria on Friday said that he is hopeful for the revival of bilateral cricket between Pakistan and India.
“People from both countries want bilateral cricket to revive. People want to see India vs Pakistan, and I am hopeful of a contest on the cricket pitch as soon as tensions ease,” Ajay Bisaria said while talking to the media in Lahore.
During an earlier address at Lahore’s Chamber of Commerce, Bisaria said that the recent incident of harassment faced by Pakistan’s envoy and his family in India is under discussion on diplomatic grounds.
He added that the media in both the countries needs to play a peacemaker’s role and refrain from reporting false information as ‘factually incorrect information escalates tensions’.
The dignitary was welcomed upon his arrival at the COC by President Tahir Javed Malik, while traders present on occasion also put forward their reservations before Bisaria, including visa issues.
To this end, Ajay Bisaria assured that he would do his best to resolve the matter and allow the maximum number of traders the visa.
